Melissa spent her early childhood on a farm in Oregon with a variety of chickens, cats and brothers, and a cranky milk cow.  When her family moved to the coldest city in Montana,  her love for picture books and stories took root at the public library. She's been working towards children's book illustration ever since.

In 2015, she graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a BFA in drawing and painting and a minor in writing. She has participated in several art showcases, served on the background team for an animated short-film, held  watercolor classes at a little studio called Paint the Town San Marino.

Iver & Ellsworth is her first picture book, authored by Casey Robinson (releasing May 2018). Since she can't stay in the same place for long, she is currently working on her second children's picture book for Ripple Grove Press in a little Alaskan cabin (whilst fending off the mice and moose).

Iver & Ellsworth is available online and in bookstores across the US and Canada.
